Neda Maki
I am a dedicated Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)Professional Art Therapist, and PhD candidate in Medical Anthropology at the University of Toronto. I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, Ontario Association (CRPO #20444), Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP) and the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA). My doctoral research explores how children on the autism spectrum express imagination and language through art—bridging clinical practice, creativity, and cultural understanding. In my psychotherapy practice, I support children, youth, and adults in navigating a wide range of emotional and mental-health concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem/bullying, anger, grief, and interpersonal challenges. Drawing from my background as an Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) therapist and art psychotherapist, I take a holistic and creative approach that integrates art therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and positive psychology. As a university professor, I also help children, teens, and adults develop strategies for time management, school routines, and academic stress—promoting confidence, balance, and self-efficacy.
